Welcome to the 2nd Adelaide Croatian Film Festival!

The Croatian Community Council of South Australia, in association with our presenting partner, Ilirija Resort, is proud to announce the 2nd Adelaide Croatian Film Festival 2024. Screening at the Regal Theatre, Kensington Park, commencing with the opening night on Friday 15th of November 2024, the festival will screen additional sessions for Saturday, the 16th, and Sunday, the 17th of November.

Although only a small country with a population of just over 4 million, Croatia has been producing feature films since the early 1900s. Currently, Croatia produces between 5 to 10 feature films per year and six of these will be showcased during our 3-day Festival.

Encompassing genres from feature-length documentaries to drama and comedy, the second Adelaide Croatian Film Festival offers attendees a broad suite of films that are entertaining, provocative, and insightful. Through the powerful medium of cinema, audiences can connect with Croatian culture in a stimulating and contemporary way.

Opening Night (Friday 15 November – 8pm) features the 2024 Winner of the Palme d’Or Short Film at Cannes, The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent. This short film portrays the true story of a man who refused to remain silent as innocents were hauled away by Serbian Paramilitary forces in Bosnia in early 1993. A late addition to our slate of films, this short film screens before our feature, The Diary of Pauline P.
