Synopsis: The Adelaide Croatian Film Festival is proud to be opening this year’s festival with The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent – Winner of the Palme D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 in the Short Film category.

The year is 1993 and a train that is traveling from Belgrade in Serbia to Bar in Montenegro suddenly stops in Štrpci, Bosnia Hercegovina.
Serb paramilitaries are rounding up Muslims to haul off the train and while most passengers comply with their orders, one man does not.

Based on true events, The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent is a study in fear, but also courage, as it poses a basic question: what would you do under the same circumstances?

The Adelaide Croatian Film Festival is the only forum in which to see this award-winning short in South Australia!
